Aiming the Target – Angelaine Yvonne S. Cantillana October 15, 2009
If you were a ship sailing at the sea and you didn’t have your sails set, then a wind blew, where do you think would you end up? Of course, wherever the wind blew. However, if you have your sails set, you may go to any destination you wish. Just like our goals, if our goals were set, we will know our direction and which path to follow especially if we will make a way to achieve and accomplish them. Even how high and strong the walls blocking your way or even how many and how hard the obstacles you may encounter. It may take time before it happens but, which is important is you made it and you spend effort to achieve it.
So, we would like to extend our greatest gratitude to Mr. Enrico B. Suinan for allowing us to conduct an interview regarding goal setting. He shared some tips and advices during the interview proper. He cited some skills and trainings students need to prepare him/her for the future. To reach our goals, we must study as hard as we could. We have to be open-minded every time. Patience, calmness, analytical thinking, broad-mindedness and positive self-concept are very important. He also emphasized that time management in needed in all aspects or field we want. Through the interview, we have understood and learned what we need to prepare for the future.
Other Questions asked to Mr. Suinan October 11, 2009
Does your career affect your family?
”No, they were not affected. A secret is to establish time management. You have to balance your time for your job and your family.”
What obstacles have you encountered within your job?
“We have regulating agencies such as PhilHeatlth, DENR, and DOH. They sometimes gave memoranda which are out of this world and it finds hard to comply with.”
Aside from being an administrative and personnel officer, do you have any other desired profession?
“As I have said earlier, I’m happy with my job. I am happy with the people and opportunity they are giving me. I am contented with my job.”
Do you have any suggestion so that students can plan for their career path?
“You should be brave enough to face greater challenges after high school days. You should also take care of the responsibility, set your own goals, and have an inspiration in life.”
